Miz Exploring Kyoto : Koryu-ji with treasure from Asuka period & Soba Sweets of Owariya

Koryu-Ji is called as the oldest temple in Kyoto, before Heian period. The temple is made by Hatauji/秦氏 who brought the technologies river improvement, making alcohol, weaving, etc to Japan. (Hatauji’s related shrine and temples also exists). At the Reihou-den/霊宝殿 in this temple, the treasures of Koryu-ji are displayed. One of the most famous thing and the oldest thing is „Miroku Bosatsu Hankashi Zou/弥勒菩薩半跏思惟像“(Figure of Miroku Bosatsu). This figure is from Asuka period, some theories told that brought from Shilla.
