Matsuo-Taisha is the shrine which built by Hatauji/秦氏, who was Torai-jin/渡来人(people came from out of Japan). Hatauji is called the person who made a lot of shrine in Kyoto. Yasaka Shrine(East) is on the opposite of Matsuo-Taisha(West).
To talk about the building, Honden/本殿 has the style of Muromachi period, because the shrine was re-built at 1397. The style is called „Ryou-ryu-Tsukuri/両流造“(Mixed-style) , it’s rare. Only 6 shrines have this style.
What is more, Matsuo-Taisha is also told as „God of Sake“. The barrels display in here.
This patisserie open only 3 days in a week. It’s definitely to taste its cakes, so vivid and soulful.
I’ll visit again!
