Ginkaku-Ji(銀閣寺) is located at North-East of Kyoto, very close to mountain area. That is built by Ashikaga Yoshimasa(足利義政),who was Shogun(将軍)/military governor in Muromachi Shogunate(室町幕府). He loved arts, and also created Higashiyama Culture/period.
After Onin War(応仁の乱), the times was covered by war tone,on the other hand, strong various arts were born like Noh(能),Sado(茶道)/Japanese tea ceremony,Kado(華道)/Japanese flower arrangement, Garden,Buildings,Renga(連歌)/collaborative poetry etc. And that culture was mixed with Zen ,Buke(武家)/Samurai and Kuge(公家)/ Japanese aristocratic class . So, Ginkaku-Ji is one of the most important place to know and see the culture that still remains.
Kougetsu-Dai was told as the thing to watch moon. But there isn’t enough information why it was made.
Ocha-no-I(お茶の井) which was found from Muromachi period , is spring water for using to drink tea.
There’re some Saba-sushi stores in Kyoto. I think it is the best to taste Saba-Sushi! This Saba(鯖)/mackerel is very juicy and the flavour of sushi-rice is very good.
