Miz Exploring Kyoto : Imahie Jingu & Jumbo Pancakes at Baiko-do

Walking the slope in front of Kyoto National Museum, Torii/鳥居 appears on you.

That is Imahie jingu/新日吉神宮, is in calm place. The shrine had been moved twice. One of this moving is the reason of the Shogunate was changed from Toyotomi to Tokugawa. This is also the change of period from Aduchi Momoyama period/安土桃山時代 to Edo period/江戸時代. After becoming Edo period, everything related Toyotomi was destroyed and banned by Tokugawa. But people in Kyoto respected Toyotomi as „Taikou-San/太閤さん“ . And these people worshiped this shrine.
